Election Day is October 6, 2026 

 

As a board member, I have a proven track record of working for the good of our district and its students. I am committed to improving education for all of the district’s students. To do that, we need to envision a district with an abundance of opportunity at every school, including a safe and healthy environment for every student and staff member, where we capitalize on the strength of community by listening and communicating transparently to engage families and community organizations in education.

 

I was born and raised in Fairbanks and I attended its public schools. I care about this community and I’m committed to continuing to work to make it stronger. It’s a tough time in education in this state and country, and we need leaders who are willing to tackle difficult challenges, research and understand data and discern fact from opinion, make hard decisions and when necessary, and stand their ground while building bridges. That is the type of leadership that I offer.

I take the responsibility of being a board member seriously. It’s not just about sitting at the dais; good governance means researching the issues, verifying data being used for decision-making, seeking out voices of the public - including staff and students, and keeping the health of the district as a whole in mind with every vote. I am committed to respect, collaboration, teamwork, and the power of community. That’s why my campaign slogan is “seeking common ground for the common good,” - words that also guide my actions as a board member. 

I would appreciate your vote on October 6 (or during early voting starting September 21).
